Wallaby Hill Farm Breeding
As well as Competitions, our Breeding program is of huge importance to the future of Wallaby Hill. Our aim is to bring the very best of performance horse breeding to Australia and produce top quality performance horses, bred from the most proven blood lines only. Most of our youngstock come from embryos transferred out of our competition mares. At the end of the competitive season, the mares are artificially inseminated with semen, usually imported from German. After 10 days they get flushed and the embryo transferred into surrogate mares. Occasionally we buy young mares to help further our blood lines. All our breeding takes place on our sister property Ridgeview, where the foals are born and weaned and broken in as 2 year olds before being introduced to competitive life as 4 year olds. It is a lengthy process establishing a high quality breeding program; but it is our aim that all WHF Horses are stamped with impeccable breeding, manners and education.
